But hopefully the contrasting young Frisian horses in the snowy landscape will make some good …

mooie winter landschappen Jan, leuk die donkere dieren in deze witte wereld,
prachtig die typische grijze winter lucht boven de besneeuwde landschappen.
De Friese paarden doen het heel mooi in dit witte landschap, maar de foto waarbij de lucht naadloos overloopt in het land vind ik top.

Nice that your son visited you as a surprise. For the moment winter is over in the Netherlands. The snow and ice melted away meanwhile and temperatures are still rising.

Luckely it’s not half as cold as in the United States, so these horses can well do without a blanket now.

Dat land en lucht zo in elkaar overgaan is toch behoorlijk uniek. Mooie beelden van het wit, alweer.
In de winter van 2009-2010 heb ik het al eens mooier gezien. Toen hing er een laagje mist over het land, dat het zicht op de horizon wegnam, waardoor de lucht en het besneeuwde land ècht naadloos in elkaar overgingen.
Maar dit is ook al eindeloos veel mooier dan het donkere en grijze dat we zo vaak ik januari zien.
Dat vind ik ook. Toch was het gisteren op het strand ook niet mis met dat grijs. Een aparte sfeer en héél stil.
Strand en zee zijn naar mijn idee altijd mooi, zowel bij zonnig weer met een staalblauwe lucht als bij grijs en donker weer. Het licht is aan zee nu eenmaal anders dan verder landinwaarts.
